"With all the changes being brought about with the new Communities First programme, I thought it was vital as a manager to ensure all my workforce had a sound understanding of the RBA process, what it was, and more importantly what it meant for them and the projects they deliver and manage. Through this transition phase of Communities First I as a Coordinator have experienced tastes of many different training providers delivering RBA in very different ways, some of which made the process over complex. I commissioned Empower to deliver the RBA training to my team because of their excellent reputation and very positive feedback from other participants. The session that was delivered certainly met my expectations and exceeded my team’s expectations when the trainer Bev Garside not only made the process relevant to Communities First but also used it on current projects being delivered and against local statistics. This made the whole RBA experience for my staff more practicable and provided a consistent approach to RBA. RBA is a very dry subject therefore there is a certain amount of responsibility on the trainer to make the training enjoyable and interesting as well as worthwhile. I can confirm Empower succeed in all areas, leaving my team energised and equipped with the knowledge to use RBA in their work plans to make a difference in the future programme of Communities First. "

Mindful of their role within the Communities First programme in recent years (leading on the All Wales conferences and delivering training to communities, staff teams and partnerships) and as a recipient of its services I suggested Bev Garside at Empower. The Partnership is very diverse with strong ideas, opinions and characters. It was equally important that any facilitator is able to harness the energy of this dynamic group as well as impart information that is of practical use. We were not let down.
