About Empower

Empower are a team of individuals passionate about training and enabling individuals and organisations to achieve their full potential and we strive to be the leading training and support provider in Wales for the Voluntary, Community and Public Sector.

We work across all boundaries, both geographic and sectoral, and believe that forging effective partnerships is the way to benefit everyone.

At Empower we look for creative responses to problems and share this creativity with our clients. Our reputation is our most valuable asset and we focus on maintaining and improving that reputation.

Over the years we have provided quality support and training to charities, Local Authorities and organisations such as Communities First to help them strive to be the best that they can be.

We are constantly looking for new partnerships which will provide win:win outcomes for both so if you think there may be an opportunity for joint working give us a call. We would love to hear from you.

Our conferences provide a unique opportunity to bring the private, statutory and voluntary sectors together to achieve shared goals.

Our aim is to be the best at what we do. We will do this through the development of partnerships with agencies that share our values.

This is what people say about Empower:

“A well planned and implemented course. The trainer had an element of humour and attention to timing; plenty of information beyond the slides.”

“Excellent responsive service that is highly professional. Officers from other organisations have commented to me about how good Bev Garside is and how quick she is to grasp complicated project details, nuances and funding streams.”
West Lindsey District Council Economic Development Department

“Empower has helped Derwentside Community Empowerment Network through a period of conflict and helped us over a huge number of challenges yet has remained focussed and professional and helped us to be the same thereby still achieving our goals.”
Derwentside Community Network

“I have no hesitation in recommending Empower as eminently suitable contractors in roles requiring a dedicated, committed and tenacious character for a key role in developing, progressing or closing specific project, or indeed a generic piece of work that may be required.”

“I will continue to promote Empower as I feel they are able to respond efficiently and effectively to given projects.”

I finished the last blog with a quote and have started this one with another. The ‘title’ of this piece is a quote from the film 13th Warrior, described by Time Out in the following terms: “At its best, this achieves the beauty and grandeur of a Kurosawa epic - at its worst, however, it feels like a Python remake of The Vikings.”

Accountants in charities are important!

Sarah Case FCA DChA

Accountants within charities are important ... well I would say that wouldn’t I! But realistically they have to be important. I have heard service departments of charities grumbling that “finance rules this organisation” and whilst finance shouldn’t rule they should certainly have a hand in ruling.
